Our mission at Salon Medusa is to exceed our guests’ expectations and provide the highest quality professional beauty services available today. We continually strive to create beauty which allows our guests to look fabulous, be relaxed and feel beautiful on the inside as well.
Our History
David Schminke II and Laura Dillon first met in 1983 when Schminke and his family were clients of a popular downtown Milwaukee salon where Dillon was a hairdresser and manager. Fast forward a few years and Dillon hires Schminke as an assistant to the salon owner. Working hard to quickly build a strong client base, Schminke and Dillon soon realized their similar professional goals and complementary talents. In the autumn of 1989, at an educational congress in Minneapolis, an idea was born.
On April 3, 1990, Salon Medusa opened its doors to an already enthusiastic client base. For 16 years the small team of hairdressers performed their exceptional services on an ever-growing clientele. But in 2005 it became clear that without a new location Salon Medusa and its talented team could not continue to grow. And so the planning began again and on May 2, 2006, Salon Medusa was reborn in a lovely new location boasting a modern, full-service environment.
Now clients of Salon Medusa enjoy a beautiful and comfortable environment with hair, skin, massage, nail, waxing and makeup services, performed by highly-trained professionals, all at their fingertips. Salon Medusa was named one of the “Top 200 Fastest-Growing Salons” in Salon Today magazine, one of Milwaukee’s “Top 5” salons two years in a row by WISN’s A-LIST website and one of Milwaukee’s “Top 20 Salons” in Milwaukee Magazine.
